This is our Club’s quarterly magazine, appearing in March, June, September and December. It is distributed to all members and is now in its 26th year.

StoneChat is also exchanged with other societies in the UK and overseas. It is now being read in Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada and South Africa.

The first issue of the magazine, in 1980, consisted of 6 pages and was produced by typewriter and duplicator.  Still in A5 format, we now usually have 28 computer produced inner pages and a colour cover. The content is aimed to appeal to the many interests of our members.

A typical issue will carry the following:

• Editorial page with important announcements and the latest Society news
• Field Trip reports
• Show & Conference diary
• Programme announcements of Society events
• Feature articles
• News concerning British Mining
• Tips for collectors and lapidaries
• Mining/mineral collecting walks
• Show reports
• Museums and exhibitions
• Articles from world-wide sources
• Book reviews

Articles are always welcome from our members.
